You ever think of what coffin you'll be buried in?

It just dawned on me today that i have never thought about a coffin i would prefer for my decaying body.. also, its 2019 and we are really still spending thousands of dollars on coffins and burial sites? i dunno i feel like thats a very luxurious route for a dead body.. looking at these prices, i wouldnt mind being cremated or left in the middle of the woods to recycle my body into the environment.. or even eaten if the meat is still fresh.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I want to be cremated or made use of. Burial, in the Western world especially, is a huge waste of land, money, and space.

An impractical or wasteful method of disposal of my body would be a dishonor to what I believed in life, anyway.

Why don't y'alls get yer body wrapped up in duct tape and star posthumously in your own horror movie? Lots of scenes with land mines going off, and the kinfolk shooting at ATF.

So be cremated and put in a coffee can or sprinkled in a garden for fertilizer.
    Problem solved.

...or just get left in the recycle bin on trash day.

"...or just get left in the recycle bin on trash day."

Not a bad idea but the cops always freak out when a body is found in the trash.

Peasants. I expect nothing less than to be buried in a great pyramid with lots of treasure. And canopic jars. Oh yes there will be canopic jars.

Why not a natural burial? Where they just wrap you in a biodegradable shroud and maybe a cardboard box?

    (shakes head) Man....

I think the entire cost of a fancy funeral is around $9,000. I think that includes casket, burial, and some preacher to stand there fibbing about what a great person you were.

The details of my own demise are something I have NO desire to know about. Some people have their plot, coffin, and all that shit picked out before death.

I do not want to know any of that. Can you imagine driving by a graveyard and knowing that is where they will chuck your dead body someday? Or what your coffin will look like?
And you think going to the dentist is dreadful?

If someone wants to be buried though, couldn't someone spend maybe a few hundred bucks and just build one at home?

The cheapest one. I don't want my legacy to be lowered by a stupid company held by an old couple. My money won't follow me in in the death. Do people with big priced coffin looks like cool ? No shit. The day I will be buried in a carton box people will laught at me and say that I was a smart and good man to die like this and leave a lot more to my kids.

I won’t have a coffin. I’ll go with cremation there’s also natural burial where you don’t use a coffin or the chemicals of embalming. Embalming is a scam and completely unnecessary

Why go for a lame coffin when you can do Tibetan sky burial?

  • I want to be cremated or get a natural burial, or idk, just something not hard on the environment or the wallet. If I picture my coffin, though, I picture it to be a plain one made of slightly dark wood.

The grass in the graveyard looks short, and a little thin. The sky is light gray, with sun breaking through. It'd be funny if this were a real vision of my future, because I wouldn't know.

Just call environmental services and dispose of my body the same way any other dead animal would be disposed of.

You do realise you have to be mega rich to afford to be buried in a coffin, right? In the western world, at least.

Most people these days can only afford a cremation.

Well, I only have one cat, and I'm reasonably sure that I'll outlive him. It's probably kinda twisted, but I hope my elderly parents outlive me. I figure maybe I can have a heart attack sometime in the next ten years.
