Young man studying and still doesn't know what to do

Hi everyone, I'm 22 and I've studied all my life (electronic). However I still don't know what I really want to do in my life. Help me ! Is it normal ? I don't want to waste my time and my life !

Sometimes I think about having a job which I can help people. I love helping sad people, for example !

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Stop pressuring yourself. You have plenty of time to decide. Your life will not be ruined if you step off course; in fact, that would he good for you.

I'd recommend a few jobs or internships. I had the same struggle until I started working.

        You're very welome!

Considering your edit, I would highly recommend doing some volunteer work. I have done that, & it was a great experience that definitely helped me decide what I wanted to do. It may also lead to job opportunities.

It's amazing that you want to help people. Right now you might be overwhelmed, but this is a great time in your life because you have many possibilities & open doors. I know that the sheer number of choices can he overwhelming, but you just need to focus on finding something that you enjoy. Something that makes you happy. The best way to do that, in my experience, is to put yourself out there & try working jobs you might find interesting, even if it's a bit of volunteer work at first.

& no need to apologize! Your English is excellent!

        • If I start doing something different, it would take time. To be honnest, I really don't know if I should try it or continue my actual studies !

I will probably try that when I'll end my current study. (2 years left) :)

Oh thank you for my English ! It's very useful when I have to work with strangers.
I speak french as mother language. ;)

I feel like you should drop out and learn to play music or go around volunteering and helping people. School just indoctrinates you.

I just think I'm caught in the routine and I don't know how to start changing my life.

I try to learn to play didgeridoo as music instrument since last october ! :)

    • I'm from Switzerland and I grew up here too.
I started to learn electronic when I was 16.
I've always been in this area !

My childhood and teenage were normal. I had my 2 parents that helped me.

During all my studies, there have been nearly only men and not really much women. I would like to work and meet more girls too.

I think you should figure it out in a hurry. The sooner you figure it out the sooner you can work your way up in that field. Your goal vould be something like making a good living by 30. That was my goal. I started my company at 18. It wasnt really what I wanted in life but it pays great. So what am I gonna do? Sometimes we gotta do what we dont want to make good money. My only other option was boxing and that causes brain damage and is a roll of the dice whether you make it or not.

Would it be possible for you to get a job in a field where you have some expertise while you continue to study other in other areas that interest you?
