For me I hate cats because of how they are creepy and how they always have this irritating sound and how they leave hair on the floor.

Got a little fat pony named Burger that just cost me $1000 USD in emergency vet bills and made me have to stay behind while my family goes on vacation. I’m actually hosing down his ass crack while I type this at 1:30 am.
So, which one do I hate today ? This one.
Ugh, that sucks! I would love to have another horse someday, but the fact that they always manage to find a way to get hurt no matter what you do to prevent it (and if there's a will, there's a way with them 🤣) makes me rethink it a lot, as I was always worried and stressing over mine! I still miss having one like crazy though, as there are days where I miss just having one, even the barn chores! I don't miss this kind of stuff though, and don't envy you in this situation! Sorry you're missing out on your vacation!
Kids are the worst to take care of. 18+ years commitment and you cant give em away if your allergic to them
Now with kids I dislike dogs the most. Because people let their pitbulls and big dogs run free and they're often vicious and will kill kids. Law enforcement does not seem bothered by this.
I hate this as well! What's even worse is how some of the owners respond to it when something like that does happen, blaming the victim for merely being in the wrong place at the wrong time (even being on their own property, minding their own business) and trying to save the dangerous animal from being euthanized. No normal dog mauls someone to death unprovoked, and it would take a lot to get most dogs to that point, so any dog that randomly mauls absolutely needs to be euthanized. Sadly, there are many cases where they're taken to a different state, renamed, and put up for adoption at shelters with no mention at all of their history. 🤬
My neighbors dog got out of his house and ran into my yard viciously barking and chasing my wife and toddler who barely got the fence closed behind them. The neighbor came out playing victim because I was about to shoot the dog in my yard. Got to live in fear of my kids playing in their own yard because that dog is allowed to live in a residential area. Ill be happy when the dogs dead.
That's infuriating, but sadly not surprising. My experience with owners of vicious dogs is that they're always in denial and say things like "he's never done that before", "he's just playing", "he'd never hurt a fly" when their dog is clearly being aggressive, and they never actually correct the situation, but just make excuses and blame everyone else. It's beyond ridiculous!
Yes and the police almost always take their side. And if your kid get mauled and you walk in your neighbors yard and put down their dog with a shotgun you go to jail for a long time. You have to live in fear.
Yes, and that is beyond messed up! It is self defense/defending your family to kill an animal that is presenting an eminent danger to them! I mean, would it be different to them if it was a bear or a lion instead of someone's pet (and arguably, pitbulls can be in that same realm of dangerous since it's nearly impossible to get them to let go once they maul, and they are easily capable of inflicting fatal injuries and do so at a much higher rate than other breeds)? In my opinion, pits and other fighting breeds shouldn't even be pets, especially since the average person can't control them and even pros can't stop them once they snap.
I don't really hate these but I find them annoying: Emotional Support Dogs. Animals that provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as Service Animals under the ADA, yet people will take them into stores, doctors offices, libraries, and other buildings. Since they're not trained the same way a Service Animal is, they just wind up barking loudly, tearing things up, and shitting everywhere. Management or owners of the building try to tell the dog owner something, and the dog owner starts getting belligerent, whines about how they NEED the dog, and act all dumbfounded when they're kicked out over the commotion their untrained animal makes. XD
IM WITH YOU...all animals are emotional support than.. we love them they make us happy. laugh and cry. these people go on line some of them pay $50 get a card. BULL SHIT... kick there asses out.. there not service dogs or animals... get me a emotional support service horse to stomp the little shit in the baby carriage i the store..
Pet Rocks. There is no emotional attachment. They are not happy to see you, sad to see you leave, never react to anything, etc. They just sit there and do nothing.
But most of America is from the 70's or older. I think that's about 85% of all housing, almost all roads, almost all parks and many other things.
I guess one advantages of pet rocks is that they take a very very long time to die. Their are millions of them still around.
Maggots. I accidentally left my front door open and flies laid maggots all over my kitchen garbage. When I tried to clean them up they crawled all over the floor and spread to my bedroom and bathroom, hiding in crevices and under boxes. When I dumped Pine-sol on them the swam around in the puddles and spread out even more. I had to smash each one with my finger and I almost vomited.
I don't hate pets or animals(Maybe otters in Singapore), I hate neglectful, abuseive, irresponsible, egotistical, arrogant pet owners.
I think my least favourite pet would be a fish. Cant pet a fish.
And cats. Every time I've tried to have a cat they've been assholes
My favourite is dogs. I love dogs so so much.
I'm the opposite when it comes to fishes I happen to have a pet fish, my cute pleco swimming her way and hiding a lot in the fish tank. I totally respect your opinion about them there's nothing wrong with that.
Cats are one trick cookie to have perhaps its my way on how I think about cats.
Small dogs, especially shih-tzus and chihuahuas. I could dropkick one of those ugly little fuckers off a bridge and not feel an ounce of remorse
None.
I hate people who don't know or care to learn how to take proper care of animals and the animals suffer as a result. Reptiles, amphibians, and rodents get the brunt of this, but cats and dogs suffer as well.
I was at a Farmers Market one day where it was over 100°F and someone thought it was a great idea to bring their PET ARCTIC WOLF. He thought a small bowl of water would be enough for his pet wolf.
Don't blame the pets. Blame the humans that are selfish and self-centered and will make innocent creatures suffer for their own amusement.
And be grateful you aren't owned by anyone and have some sense of free will. I think something that would benefit you to read is I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.
And always remember we are animals too.
Aww, cats are my favorite! 😻 I melt when I see one!
I really like most pets, though untrained large dogs make me nervous, specifically bully breeds and the like, due to their mere strength (yet, I rode horses for years and years and thought nothing of it 🤣). I would have to say though, that two pets I could not imagine ever having because they truly terrify me, are tarantulas and snakes!
I don’t hate any pets but my least favorite to own personally would be dogs only cause I don’t have the energy, patience or assertiveness for them, and their dependence doesn’t really appeal to me. Some of the smaller ones are cute though.
some dogs can be really annoying. I don't like our girl dog because she killed my chicken who was really friendly. So I have not forgiven her.
Welp, why was she allowed around the chicken? That's predator and prey animal. It's not your dog's fault.
my dad took her to the land and didn't watch her. I like my other dog better, because he is passive and a wimp and not prey-driven.
That's your dad's fault. Animals are animals. It's unfortunate something that comes to her naturally made you dislike her.
It could also be because she is female. Are your dogs spayed and neutered, and when were they spayed and neutered? I know at least with cats, females will kill and bring prey home to present to their owners. My sister had a cat who used to leave dead birds and gophers on her pillow because she was spayed too late and thought she was my sister's Mama.
It could be a maternal instinct she was never able to use. Male dogs tend to be more laid back from what I've noticed. But then again, it's just from my personal experience.
Large dogs.
It's just the size that annoys me really. Although I suppose it's because I grew up around smaller, easier to handle pets.
Ditto on cats. I don't mind a housecat that someone keeps as a pet but I HATE when they let it out to roam at night and crap on my lawn. Then they attract others and my lawn becomes the neighborhood toilet. I trap them and take them for a 1 way ride.
Now why would I want a cat for my birthday if its something I don't like?
I'd rather OP not have a pet honestly...they seem like the type to not really have any empathy for animals in general. That's not a good fit for a pet owner.
Lastly I do have empathy for animals why do you like to assume that I don't?
That's another question, it's not like I don't care its just I have a different opinion on one specific animal.
You literally posted a question asking what pets we hate and talked about why you hated cats. It's not a stretch to think why I don't think you don't have empathy for animals. You wanted to share your hatred for cats and why and ask us about our hatred for other animals and why.
Like from the responses OP is posting to others, I think they would legitimately put the cat to sleep.
They're the type to blame human misdeeds on the animal (cat overpopulation, etc)
Not really, I just happen to not like certain animals and that's fine.
Also what makes you think I shouldn't have a pet? I'd genuinely would like to know that.
The entire vibe of this question was weird.
When I was a kid my dad brought home a red slider turtle for me because he was an idiot. I had no clue how to take care of her and her enclosure stunk to high heaven most of the time. However, it wasn't her fault. She eventually was taken to someone else who could take care of her.
Would I ever own a turtle again? Hell no. But I don't hate them. I'm just not someone who can put in the time and effort to care for reptiles. They require very specific kinds of care and often do not get it from their owners. It takes a special kind of person to take care of them.
But I don't "hate" any animal or other living creature, and it gives me bad vibes you could state a question in this way. Like the type of person to drop off an animal at the pound if they grow tired of them with no care as to what happens to them afterwards.
